Stairs climbing is a form of HIIT that we can perform anywhere. This activity increases our heart beat to a level which requires our entire body to respond in a fast pace. Its a complete body workout with maximum results. People often regard stairs as a lower body exercise. It is true to some extent but its not just confined to lower body only. Experts claim that Because you have to engage more muscle groups and exert yourself more than if you were on flat ground, stair climbing is an effective and time-efficient cardio workout.
Climbing stairs is one of the best exercises when it comes to pure fat burn, strengthening the lower body, toning the butt, thighs, calves, losing inches from those love handles and belly and building great abs. Along with these benefits is the immense good it does for your lungs and cardio vascular system.
To get a good workout, you can try climbing stairs with 10 to 12 steps, one step at at time. A flight up and down will burn around 2 to 5 calories. A 54kg person burns about 235 calories when climbing stairs for 30 minutes or you can climb up and down a 10-storey building for 5 times to burn around 500 calories.
Stairs can do wonders for you body. All you need is a commitment and will power. Stairs are a tiring and boring routine. But if you work consistently it can offer you wonders and you can finally achieve all your body goals.
